What is Network Spinal AnalysisTM (NSA)?
Network Spinal Analysis uses gentle touch contacts along the neck and back to achieve greater communication between the brain and body. Chiropractic knows each section and vertebrae of the spine corresponds to the functions of a different section of the body – like the ring of a tree, the spine and spinal cord records the events of your life at a cellular level.
To explain further – the brain sends messages to every cell of the body (and visa versa) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The spinal cord (central nervous system) is the conduit through which nerve impulses travel from the various parts of the body to the brain and from the brain to the body. The body can handle an astounding amount of stress; however, when we experience any kind of trauma (emotional, physical or chemical) that is too significant for the body to process at once, the brain (in its inherent intelligence) immediately shuts off the information flow to the nerves in the corresponding area of your spine. Immediately or over time, the trauma can translate to pain or dis-ease. In addition to being “communication central” for the body, the spinal cord also serves as the physical repository for these unresolved stresses.
Network Spinal Analysis effectively helps jumpstart the body’s natural self-healing process by training your neurological pathways to be more efficient and process the messages from the brain more effectively while expanding your frontal lobe brain capacity. This process is called somatic (body) wellness. There is a sizeable body of research on Network Spinal AnalysisTM care, which documents its unique and significant wellness benefits, ranging from reduced anxiety and pain to weight loss and improved life balance.
What can you expect from the initial visit?
Prior to your initial exam, Chiropractic First will have you complete a comprehensive health history to help our NSA practitioners assess the various kinds of current and/or prior stressors you’ve had in your life (mental, emotional, physical and chemical). When you come in for your initial exam, a non-invasive thermal scan and postural muscle scan of your spine is performed to look for heat variances and muscle imbalances between the right and left sides of your body to identify areas of dysfunction. These scans create a baseline from which we measure your progress and the effectiveness of your response to our care.
Next, we observe you standing and sitting to assess your natural posture and breathing capacity. Finally, your posture is gauged standing using an anatometer – a machine that measures postural distortions in the body.
After the exam, the practitioner will schedule a follow up appointment with you to go over all the results and answer any questions you might have. Together we will develop a care plan for your long-term wellness.
What can you expect from a Network Spinal AnalysisTM appointment?
A few highlights:
- Treatments are called adjustments or entrainments.
- You remain clothed (except your shoes) during a session.
- An appointment takes about 15 to 30minutes.
- The adjustment itself is gentle and relaxing.
Typically, NSA is a group experience. Adjustment rooms have a number of chiropractic tables for clients to use with the doctor moving among them. Since we are all connected, we benefit from changing as a group.
The chiropractor will lead the body towards correction with gentle and precise touches to key areas of the spine. This soft kind of approach to the spine cues the brain to drop its defensive postures and initiate its self-healing process. Unlike other chiropractic techniques, Network Spinal Analysis accesses the spine in areas that are already at ease. The intelligence of the body then shares that message of ease with the rest of the system. The body (like people) responds more favorably to change through gentle persuasion rather than duress.
