Chicago & Evanston Massage Therapy

Clinical Massage Therapy for the Chicago & Evanston Areas

Many scholars suggest that the Western massage therapy we know today was originally brought to Europeans from China many hundreds of years ago.  The techniques commonly thought of as Swedish massage can be found in ancient medical documents from Asia.  Healing through touch is a fundamental aspect of your humanity, we are fortunate today to have many teachers, methods and access to knowledge about healing from all over the world.  In addition, Western Scientific studies have shown that Massage therapy is helpful in healing many conditions and reducing the effects of stress in your body.

Clinical massage therapy focuses on your overall wellness as opposed to simply relaxation.  A “day at the spa relaxation massage” is essential for us all, however sometimes a more systematic approach is necessary to relieve your pain and improve your well being – this is where Clinical Massage therapy becomes fundamental.

What to Expect from Your Evanston Massage Therapy Session:

Your first massage therapy session will begin with an intake form and conversation, this will give your therapist an idea of your history and what is currently an issue for you.  You will be provided with privacy while you position yourself on the treatment table and can disrobe to your level of comfort, bring along shorts or comfortable clothing if you prefer not to disrobe. Your session will be relaxing and will address issues of immediate concern as well as set the pace for follow-up treatments which will help to align your posture and improve your overall health.

How Can Clinical Massage Therapy Help You?

Clinical massage can help you to reduce the negative effects of stress, heal you from injuries, decrease your pain and inflammation, eliminate your headaches, improve your sleep quality and duration, decrease the discomfort of fibromyalgia, improve your overall mood and sense of well being, decrease your anxiety and panic attacks, improve function of your jaw from TMJ disorders, return you to balance after surgery and dental work, improve your digestion and elimination,  deepen the breath, relieve your joints and ground during transition times.
